Tragic Magic

Tragic Magic is a game created, Matthew Cormack, Sean Thurmond, Jordan Brown and myself in 48 hours at the Global Game Jam 2015.

The game is a two player table top dueling game where players must input spell combinations using the multicoloured buttons, aim and fire spells using the leap motion and move using the joystick. As a team we created a custom tabletop controller, physical spell books and wands that are tracked by the leap motion's tool tracking mode.

At this jam I was in charge of creating the table top arcade using a large plastic box, arcade components, an LCD TV and a mini-IPAC while the rest of the team created the game in Unity3D.

The game has now been recreated without using Unity with art by Pip Snaith (shown above)

The game won the Community Choice Award at the Dundee GGJ play party
